Prevent Type 3 Diabetes, The Double Dipping
Diabetes mellitus, often simply referred to as diabetes, is a group of metabolic diseases in which a person has high blood sugar, either because the body does not produce enough insulin, or because cells do not respond to the insulin that is produced. Whenever we think about diabetes, or...
New York’s Anti Obesity Campaign
Some critics have considered the New York's Anti Obesity Campaign to be radical and extreme. In my opinion, radical and extreme is dressing up disease-causing junk foods in colorful happy colors, and then have people deal with these awful diseases privately. Radical is to lie to people's faces and...
An Alkaline Lifestyle Helps Prevent Type 2 Diabetes
Until not long ago, Type 2 Diabetes was called Adult Onset Diabetes. But the name had to be changed because of the increasing number of children being diagnosed with the disease, at younger and younger ages. So a disease that was originally thought to be tied to aging, and genetic...

Prevent Diabetes by Eating an Alkaline Rainbow

As defined by the World Health Organization, “Diabetes is a chronic disease, which occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. This leads to an increased concentration of glucose in the blood (hyperglycaemia). Type 1 diabetes (previously known as insulin-dependent or childhood-onset diabetes) is characterized by a lack of insulin production. Type 2 diabetes (formerly called non-insulin-dependent or adult-onset diabetes) is caused by the body’s ineffective use of insulin. It often results from excess body weight and physical inactivity. Gestational diabetes is hyperglycaemia that is first recognized during pregnancy.” Enzymes in our body work best at a certain pH level. And our pancreatic enzymes are no different. In fact, our pancreas needs to be slightly more Alkaline than the rest of our body to balance out the Acids produced by the stomach. But we don’t hear much about this fact when we talk about problems like Diabetes. When it comes to diagnosing and treating diabetes, medical attention has been mainly focused on blood sugar and insulin levels, but overlooks the underlying cause, the pH imbalance caused by the excess acidity of the body. When we focus on maintaining that pH balance under control, then we can prevent diabetes, and in many cases even reverse it. Once we become aware of the importance of maintaining a healthy pH in our body, we are empowered to take control of our health, and prevent and revert several diseases. A combination of exercise and a healthy diet has been shown to reduce your risk of diabetes, and to revert and even cure the disease. Exercise helps release acid wastes at a cellular level, and an Alkaline Diet maintains healthy pH levels in our body while feeding our cells and allowing our enzymes to work at their best. Eating an Alkaline Rainbow of foods allows our body to heal itself and prevent most degenerative diseases. It will also help us maintain a healthy weigh, and have more energy throughout the day. We need to understand that the food we eat has the power to either heal us, or make us sick, and it is up to us to make the best or the worst of it. An Alkaline Diet eliminates the main causes of many diseases, including diabetes. It is always best to prevent disease, but an Alkaline Diet has the potential of not only preventing, but also reversing diabetes. According to the World Health Organization, 346 million people in the world have diabetes. Diabetes has become an epidemic in the United States, and worldwide. Most of the people suffering of diabetes have type-2 diabetes, caused mainly by a sedentary lifestyle and an acidic diet. A diet high in acidic foods disrupts the pH balance in our body, impairing our organs to work at their best. It also depletes our body of alkaline minerals such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, and creates an ideal environment for disease to strive. An acidic pH in our body lowers our enzyme reserves and weakens our immune systems. The ideal diet should be 75% Alkaline, 25% Acid (some say 80/20). Animal based products, sugar and processed foods are acidic foods. Try to make those the smallest part of your diet, 25%, and make the rest of it live foods of vegetable origin. Raw fruits and vegetables are Alkaline, and have the power of not only balancing our pH, but also feeding us those live enzymes our body needs to work properly.
